Each week you will publish a newsletter like this with links to things we
like and things you might like. We will have our PDF newsletter giving you the
latest news and pricelists as the season goes on, just like the one below.
This week’s featured product is broccoli.
Broccoli is a
cool weather plant that is grown in the spring and fall in our region. In
Northwest Missouri it must be started indoors and transplanted. Additionally,
it does not continue to produce large heads after the first one is picked so we
must do a fair bit of planning to ensure we have planted what we will need. To
aid us, we are asking anyone who is interested in bulk broccoli to let us know
how much you might want. A typical head of broccoli will weigh 1.25 to 1.5
pounds. Broccoli is a great vegetable to freeze and the process is simple. You
can also dehydrate broccoli for use in soups later in the year, too.
