Sweet Corn this Morning!

We have sweet corn this morning!   Join us this morning from 8:00-noon across from the South Belt Apple Market for Fresh-picked, Peaches and Cream Sweet Corn!   We are selling it for $4.00 per baker's dozen!  It's delicious!   We also have some beautiful, medium-size cantaloupe for sale this morning.  See you there!

First Stand Tomorrow!

Visit us tomorrow at the parking lot of the Car City Body Shop across from Apple Market for our first stand of the season.  We'll have tomatoes, cantaloupe, potatoes, cucumbers, peppers and other items available.  We will be there from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon!

Look What We Have!

We have tomatoes turning!   This makes for a very exciting time around our gardens.  It means that summer

is here!   It also means, that we will soon be setting up our truck stands again, too!  We will have tomatoes in limited availability this week, so let us know if you would like some!

Also, we are offering a few new items.  We have added Yukon Gold potatoes to our list this week.  They join the list with the Red Potatoes we offered last week.   We also have a limited amount of kale joining the list of available greens!

In addition to these offerings, we are adding summer onions to our list.  If you use onions, YOU WILL LOVE THESE!   Summer onions are onions bulbs which are small size but not yet dried or cured like the onions you buy from a grocer's shelf.  We send them to you, READY TO USE!  They are cleaned and ready for your cutting board when you get them.  If you like onions, you'll love this option!

You'll Dig These!

Digging some new Pontiac Red Potatoes!

OK..  Not really.  We'll dig them.  But we think you'll really DIG the great flavor of these young New Potatoes!

It seems like everything in our gardens are about 2 weeks behind where they were last year. But, on the flip side, we have enjoyed salads, green onions, and radishes for far longer than we did last year!  God is good all the time to us, so we just enjoy the bounty He gives us in His own time!

We are also offering some new greens for you.  We have Collard Greens and Swiss Chard ready for the table.

We also have a couple of herbs this year as well.  Sage and Basil have made it on to the list.  We guarantee you won't find these fresh herbs for our low price anywhere else!  These will be picked the day they are delivered to you!  You can't get them any fresher without growing them yourself.  So plan your menu and let us know when you need it.

Spring Greens Have Arrived!

It has been a wet, cold few weeks.  This year resembles nothing of last year's warm weather.  Perhaps that means it will not be so hot and dry, too?

At long last, we have some fresh greens, onions and asparagus for you!  

Spinach!!!

The asparagus will be our first cutting on our plants, so we will not be harvesting heavily this year.  All asparagus will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so let us know if you would like some!

Many vegetable markets in our area are providing a whole host of different vegetables.  Some of you may ask us why we offer a limited selection.  The answer to that question relates to our business model.

Buying from us is like taking a trip to your own garden.  With only a few exceptions our veggies are grown in our own local gardens. Occasionally we will buy some melons from are Amish growers, but will always tell you when we do.  Many others who sell produce advertise as locally grown.  When they do, they define local to include vegetables bought from local suppliers buying produce from Southern States.  We do not do this. Any "local" market selling melons, red tomatoes or sweet corn right now did not grow that in North Missouri Soil!!

All local vegetables must by definition be available only during the local growing season.  For this reason our offers can at times be limited.  When you buy from us, you know WHERE your food comes from, and you know WHO grew it!!  You can have confidence in everything you buy from us.

Year two is here!!!  We are excited about another season and hopeful that we will not have the drought year we saw last year! God was good to us in spite of it all, and we thank each of you that made it so great!

As we begin our second year, we remember that many of you wanted to know about buying plants from us for use in your own garden.  Few things are as rewarding as tending your own home garden and enjoying the fruits from it!
